A will is often the most basic estate planning document. Depending on what you want to accomplish with a will; it can be simple or complex.

It’s important to realize that a will is not simply for seniors. It’s very important for young couples with children to create a will. If you and your spouse pass away at the same time, who will take care the children? What happens to the money that you leave behind if your children are under 18? Without a will, New York State and the courts will decide these issues without any input from you.
Unmarried couples and domestic partners must be especially concerned. The law does not give you the same rights as a married couple. Only by writing down your instructions in proper legal form can you protect your partner or fiancé.
